ABOUT US AND OUR ACTIONS

We support women’s rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, DEI, saving our national parks and standing with forest rangers, honest and fully funded education for all, free healthcare, affordable real and healthy food, water and air and other basic universal necessities, local and small farmers, veterans, small business, BIPOC rights, abolishing ICE, prisons and the police, rights of those with disabilities and the elderly, a free Palestine, Iran, Sudan and Congo and all. A free world, all together. We are the people for the people.

We are Appalachian Edge Ohio Indivisible, a chapter of the Indivisible grassroots organization. We are a collective group of volunteers in southern Ohio who want to stand up and fight against white christian supremacy, authoritarianism, capitalism and fascism in Congressional District 02, based in Adams County. We started protesting in the center of downtown Hillsboro and Peebles at David Taylor’s office, then moved to organizing in Chillicothe and finally West Union. Throughout the last almost 2 years of organizing here we have done a lot of necessary work, not just protesting and none of it has been easy. The new map change had us to change our locations and focus but also since the change many more folks here in southern Ohio have stepped up to organize and plan their own resistance in their own communities. With helping folks get step up or feel empowered we have been able to focus on Adams County and the surrounding counties with organizing, showing awareness and educating and community aid. Adams County is one of the reddest and poorest counties in Ohio as well as the highest unemployment rate and it’s not out of laziness, it’s because we have no jobs, no resources and the education and care is low. Our group has been focusing on creating systems where we don’t need to rely on the government. You can learn about all of our work, actions and these projects on our this page, our community resources page and our fundraisers and drives page along with the work for this website that was entirely done by our group lead. We recommend you take some time to read through it and are appreciative of your time.

As of right now, we only have one lead for the entire group so we are seeking folks to help us with more lead roles including and not limited to congress, legislature and media campaigns. In order for us to be sustainable and continue fighting we need some folks to want to step up and take some roles, we would get much more impactful work done. You can find all of the details and information on our volunteer page. Take a look and see what may catch your interest and you can schedule a 1:1 meeting with us to talk more. Don’t think the title of lead as a scary thing, we all need to be a leader in some way and we can help you get there!

If we can get folks to understand that capitalism and racism are why we are left with nothing and make those connections slowly and in understandable ways we can then move towards having folks be able to vote in their best interests.

The Indivisible movement is a progressive grassroots movement of millions of activists across every state. Indivisible.org if you would like to see more and we also have resources to get you joined with us or start your own. Our Appalachian Edge Indivisible group has been known to be a little different than the majority but we overall want the same things. A for the people by the people system, an abolishment of places and organizations of brutality, accountability for the men who violate women and children, a trustworthy, inclusive and diverse public education, our parks and forests safe, clean air, water and soil, end partnerships with Israel and free Palestine and free Iran, Congo and Sudan too. We can go on and on and on. The entire world should be able to work together in harmony but we have too many rich men who want control of everything.

Here, we are actively building a community of like minded folks ready to put their bodies where they are needed. We are hoping to embolden and empower the folks in our red district to stand up with us or host protests and actions in your area, we need folks out everywhere. We have been pretty successful with this since we have started out here and we are so proud of southern Ohio and all of the groups big or small that are out there fighting and doing the work daily. We need to be seen and heard, red rural areas will not keep being forgotten about and they’ll hear that we do have a voice and they’ve kept folks in the dark for too long. You are not alone, there are many of us out here and we're helping you find them.

Right now an Indivisible action is to ensure Democrats are elected this November no matter what specifically Sherrod Brown and we are to hold the seat for Landsman and Kaptur. Most folks are under the impression that we only have the democrats endorsing candidates but in some titles and districts we have others.

Our goal is to inform folks on all of the candidates for them to make their own educated decision. Our group does not support and will not support candidates that support Israel, are not pro-trans and or are supportive of ICE. A public direct and clear statement along with an action is needed by these candidates and we should be demanding these things of them, before the election. Our lead wanted to say something about this to let our folks know where she stands exactly and is direct and transparent with you. Be sure to go to our other pages on our website after reading the statement and read about what we are trying to fully accomplish here. We will share her statement here:

A statement from our lead:

“My stance is strong against any candidates that are pro-Israel and genocide as well as against the trans community and those that support ICE and if there are better candidates, I will vote for the best option for Ohio. I believe our democrats should be ensuring the folks are educated and knowledgeable of all of the information that is needed to know. We need the people to vote for the people, not the democrats to vote for the people which is equal to the republicans gerrymandering our maps. We are not saying do not vote for a specific candidate ie Sherron Brown, we are saying look into all of the candidates on the ballot. We have a socialist running against Husted and Brown that we recommend you look into. Do you want to be told who to vote for or choose for yourself? Brown received over a million dollars from AIPAC and proudly supported Israel. Greg Levy, socialist, stands firm with Palestine but there are many many other reasons why you should look into every candidate to make your own choice. Amy Acton made an anti-trans statement about children that harmed a lot of voters and all she did to save face was post a pro lgbtq+ sentence to her website and not a public statement. I will be demanding her to make a public statement recanting what she said and ensure the people know she supports the trans community. If you look into other states and elections you will see that candidates that are firmly pro trans, win the elections and those who do not support trans folks, do not win their elections. We need some of these people in office however we need to at least, at minimum, demand what you want from your democrats now, not after they are elected (if they are elected). Showing and telling them we will vote for them no matter what and they see vote blue down your ballot, why would we think they would do anything for the people or listen to us when we do start asking more questions? Ask questions now, ensure they know who they will be working for. For those who believe and say that voting for a non 2 party candidate is throwing out votes away. Sherrod Brown lost his last election and many many folks are not voting for pro-Israel candidates whatsoever. Those folks are folks who vote. If you want everyone to vote for the same person, maybe choose a person that everyone would vote for.

Trigger warning but needs to be put into perspective: If your child was forced to live in tents, was bombed everyday and starved and other countries could vote to save your child. Would you want them to vote for you or deal with it later after they elect the folks who want to force your children into tents, get bombed everyday and starved? I would do anything to give my child the best I possibly could and that includes my votes and my voice. I know a lot of us think differently, I am not trying to upset you or force you to change your thoughts or feelings but only to think about every option and path. We have the power to truly change everything if we truly chose to instead of choosing the same outcome every time.”

Please feel free to reach out to us if you would like to have a conversation about anything you would like or feel you need to. We are open to all of your comments, information, input, support or concerns.

International Women’s Day 2026 Chillicothe.

Happy International Women’s Day, our president is a pedophile and rapist. Violence against women and girls are continuing to grow at alarming and increasing rates, with men (specifically white men) having little to no consequences. Femicide isnt just a term for other countries. A man killed his daughter over Trump and we went right on past that. We have women and girls being assaulted by ICE agents in concentration camps even some resulting in pregnancy. The SAVE act is a poll tax on married women and an attack on trans folks. Trans folks ID’s in Kansas were made invalid overnight, this is an attack and violation on our rights and will lead to opening many more doors for violating and attacking our rights. Women are locked up longer for killing their abusers more than abusers are locked up for their crimes against women and children. Men get harsher punishments for drugs than what they do to us. (This involves systematic racism which you look into if you haven’t) I want to add here that a man won primaries who is going through trial for murdering a man that was abusing his daughter. He won an election yet women, those who are actually harmed and never got the help or justice they should have gotten are sitting in prison. Kudos to that man standing on what every dad claims he will do, if more men did what they claimed, more pedophiles and rapists would be dead, let’s be honest. But we can’t ignore that if it was a woman, she’d be in fucking prison. White men get away with the most and most of them have wives and mamas enabling and supporting them. These women, hold all of us back. Moms, educate your damn sons. Repeat after me, no means no and no is a full sentence. Boys and men are not entitled to girls and womens bodies, including attention. Rooms are filled with men speaking about women’s health, women’s health that only recently started to progress in studies. I could go on and on…

In order for women to rise, white women must practice intersectional feminism and environmentalism. Practice stepping away from a patriarchy way of living and you must practice anti-racism. It’s hard work that needs to be done. You cannot fight for women and earth if you aren’t fighting for women of color and trans women too.

No Kings and Kick out the Klowns Protest June 14th

On June 14th all of the states came together and protested on Trump's birthday. Over 12 million of us were in the streets. This should have shown the regime and their followers that the majority of the people did not vote for Donald Trump this past election. (We also know it was rigged because we actually listen to the words that come out of his mouth). We couldn't be more proud of our small and bigger towns that went out to let their voices be heard. In Chillicothe we had 300 protesters.
Bob Ford came out to play revolutionary and patriotic folk music and he never disappoints. We also had Lisa Parker, former chair of Jackson County Democratic party, former Army Reserve Officer, wife and mother of Combat Veterans and daughter and sister of Army Veterans and Kelly Nedrow, a Pike County beef farmer, member and staff of the American Federation of Teachers National union under Randi Weingarten and is a independent voter, one of our volunteers too to come out and speak to us. We couldn't be more appreciative of these folks to be there and share what we need to hear.

More is coming. More good trouble is coming. See you soon!

'protest networking'

"Chillicothe — Political free speech filled the sidewalk in front of the Ross County Courthouse on Saturday afternoon, joining a nationwide rally of “No Kings” day in opposition to the Trump administration.

A smaller number of Trump supporters and apparent conservatives peppered the crowd, surprisingly mixed in with the apparent liberal majority – in peace – between noon and 3pm. Several vehicles with Trump banners and U.S. flags were driven past the crowd."
